Have you ever needed a compact drum set to play a stand up cocktail gig? This is the one! Great one unit set that contains everything you need. Caution: NOT suitable for heavy rock bands :-) This set is also known as a "Manhattan Kit", this was the original type of drum set and this type of kit dates back to the jazz age of the 20's & 30's. It is the precursor to today's modern adult drum kits.
The drummer plays this kit in a standing position so he and the kit take up considerably less space than a modern standard sit down adult drum set. This type of kit is ideal for small venues with small stages. It is for this reason and also the lower price that these "retro" Cocktail Kits are gaining a renewed popularity. |

Features
- Also known as "Manhattan Kit", this was the original
- type of drum set and this type of kit dates back to
- the jazz age of the 20's & 30's. It is the precursor
- to today's modern adult drum kits.
- The tall drum (15"x24.75") is played on the top head
- with sticks as a floor tom and also doubles as the bass
- drum with the pedal beater oriented to strike upwards
- on the bottom head of the tall drum.
- The snare is an 8"x5.5" "demi" snare drum. The ride
- tom is a 10"x5" tom. The 10" hi hat cymbals are
- stationary (not pedal controlled) and the
- crash/ride cymbal is 15"/ The kit also includes a
- 4.75" cowbell.
- Don't let the small sizes of the drums fool you: volume and durability are not a problem as these are still 9 ply poplar/basswood drums and the snare and ton have remarkable volume, projection and resonance while maintaining excellent warmth of tone and stick response. The added depth of the floor tom/bass drum adds plenty of low end to the bass spectrum of the kit. In a small venue, this kit has more than enough volume and projection and in a larger venue, the kit can be mic'd to provide ample volume.
