DPA has no equal when it comes to the 4060 series. Originally designed for use with wireless systems in theatre, television and close miking instrument applications, the capsule is smaller than a pencil eraser! Two different protection grids are supplied and by changing these grids you can acoustically modify the microphones according to their placement on the body. One gives you a 3 dB boost in the 8-20 kHz range, while the other gives you a 10 dB boost at 12 kHz.

The miniatures also have another interesting design feature: The MicroDot connector system is a tiny, but rugged, thread-on plug that allows you to securely attach a wide variety of adapters. This useful feature effectively multiplies your mic inventory since you can use the same microphone element on a variety of RF body packs and even with XLR inputs. Because of their small size, these miniature mics show exceedingly true omnidirectionality and therefore, do not need to be aimed directly at the sound source to achieve quality sound. The have neutral character with great detail and resolution and are very natureal in their sonic signature. On stage, the miniature mics are completely undetectable, extremely rugged and reliable.

They are easy to put on and with the choice of beige, brown, blac or white cable, you can always hide them. The miniature mics are tailored to handle heat, humidity, and sweat as well as wind and popping.

  • This type is a prepolarised omnidirectional Miniature Condenser Microphone with a 5.4 mm vertical diaphragm specially designed for maximum performance under the often difficult conditions when mounted directly on the human body.

  • The utmost attention has been paid to the microphone's resistance to humidity. A double vent protection system together with water resistant materials inside the microphone make it more than difficult for moisture to cause the Miniature Microphone to fail. By changing the protection grids, the Miniature Microphones can furthermore be acoustically modified according to the placement of the microphone on the body.

  • The Miniature Microphone's size taken into consideration DPA has obtained an outstanding noise floor of 23 dB(A) re. 20 µPa and an impressive sensitivity of 20 mV/Pa and if powered correctly, the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 134 dB SPL before clipping occurs. A wide range of connection adapters makes it possible to use the Miniature Microphones with close to any professional wireless systems available plus 48 V Phantom. The Miniature Microphone Type 4060 is winner of Product of the Year Award 1997 from TCI.
